Step-by-Step Guide

1. Review the Delivery Offer

  • Check Details: Review the delivery offer card carefully. This includes compensation, mileage, and any specific instructions.

  • Confirm Assignment: Once you’ve reviewed the information, confirm the delivery assignment.

2. Prepare for Pickup

  • Arrive On Time: Arrive at the pickup location within 5 minutes of the scheduled pickup time. Catering orders are scheduled by the customer for events, meetings, lunches, etc…and early pickup and delivery can create a less than ideal experience for the customer. If you arrive too early, you will receive a notification indicating the remaining wait time until your scheduled pickup.

  • Be Prepared: Bring at least one hot bag and ensure you are dressed appropriately. Drivers without the proper equipment or inappropriately dressed may be rejected by the retailer due to the high-priority nature of these deliveries.

3. Pickup the Order

  • If you encounter a delay at the pickup location, please notify us: After starting the pickup process in the app, press 'Order isn’t ready' to report the delay. You can then choose from several options, which will be communicated to the Skipcart support team. A support team member may contact you if they need more information to assist with the pickup.

  • Arrange Items Carefully: Once the order is ready, carefully arrange the items in your vehicle in a single layer. Avoid stacking large orders to prevent damage.

4. Deliver to the Customer

  • Review Delivery Notes: Upon arrival at the delivery address, review the delivery notes in your driver app for any special instructions from the customer.

  • Avoid Delivering Too Early: Delivering orders too early might disrupt customers' plans, which won't make them too happy. Deliver 5-10 minutes before the delivery time in the app.If you arrive too early, you will receive a notification indicating the remaining wait time until your scheduled pickup. Delivering orders to customers more than 15 minutes early can lead to your removal from receiving catering order opportunities in the future.

  • Follow Customer Directions: Unless otherwise indicated in the customer’s directions, take the food inside and help the customer set up their order.

  • If you encounter a delay at the drop off location or are having difficulty with your delivery, let us know: After selecting “I’m here” within the skipcart app, press “Report dropoff delay.”   You can select from several different options that are then relayed to the Skipcart support team.  A Skipcart support team member may reach out if they need more information in their efforts to assist you with the delivery.

5. Set Up the Order

  • Unpack and Arrange Items: Unpack and arrange the following items:

  • Utensils

  • Plates

  • Napkins

  • Condiments

  • Hot items

  • Drinks

  • Ice

  • Desserts

6. Proof of Delivery

  • Take a Clear Picture: Once delivery and setup are complete, take a clear and detailed Proof of Delivery (POD) picture. This notifies Driver Support that the delivery was successfully completed.

  • Acceptable POD Pictures: Make sure the picture shows both the food and utensils, and where the order was left.

  • Non-acceptable POD Pictures: Avoid photos that do not show the food or are taken in the car instead of the delivery location.

Conclusion

By following these steps, you can ensure a successful catering delivery, meeting both customer and company expectations. Your professionalism and attention to detail are key to maintaining a positive delivery experience.
